Privacy Policy

Ridon is a native Mastodon client for Mac. This Privacy Policy explains what information Ridon handles and how it is protected.

Information we do not collect

Ridon is a local-first application. We do not require an account with us, we do not run analytics or advertising, and we do not collect or transmit usage data, telemetry, or personal information.

Signing in to your Mastodon server

Ridon connects directly to the Mastodon (or compatible) server you choose. When you sign in, your server returns an access token, which is stored securely in your macOS keychain. Your posts, timelines, profile, and other data are exchanged only between your Mac and the server you signed in to. They are not sent to us.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, Ridon keeps a connection to your server to receive new posts and notifications in real time. New notifications are delivered through the macOS Notification Center, which is managed by your Mac and subject to your system notification settings.

Purchases

Ridon Pro is sold through the Mac App Store. Purchases and payment details are handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. We do not receive your payment information.

Data security

We design Ridon so that your sensitive information is protected through local storage and the macOS keychain. We do not have access to your credentials or to your account on your server.

Children’s privacy

Ridon does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
